K-MUG Community council is a group of selected members in a
community who govern collectively. Issues and topics can be presented to this
council, and they will come to a united opinion. The primary purpose of a
council is to provide fair governance and feedback on an agreed set of
responsibilities in the community.
The common responsibilities of council are:
Membership approval/rejection : Council is often a useful body for approving
or rejecting members who want to join K-MUG.
Conflict resolution: CC
act as an objective third party in dealing with conflict. Members of the
community will schedule a conflict discussion with the council, and the council
members decide on an appropriate outcome.
Community values: CC act as an arbiter over the core values
of a community.
Community process
changes: Council can drive changes
to processes in the community and get those changes accepted.
Direction: Council
often determines, or at least weigh in on, the long-term direction of K-MUG.
Community Council
Selection: Community Council members list is updated quarterly. Active CC
shall decide the new members from K-MUG activities, and in-active members from
CC shall be dropped.
