K-Mug organized the Kerala edition of the Community Tech Days at Kochi on 23rd of October 2010 at IMA House. K-MUG had freezed the online registration prior to the event and check-in at the venue was done based on the entry pass. Satheesh and Amal handled the registration desk.


By 9.30 AM, Sreejumon welcomed all the speakers and attendees on behalf of K-MUG, and shared the news about Raj Nair, who passed away 3 days back due to heart attack. Raj was looking after the academic activities of K-Mug and very much active in most of the activities of K-Mug. Sreejumon requested all participants to observe a minute silence in memory of fallen comrade.


Vinod Kumar, developer evangelist with Microsoft, thanked all the participants for making the community a big hit and an active one, which in turn has helped K-Mug to bag the Community Impact Award for the year 2010. Vinod presented the trophy on behalf of Microsoft to K-MUG team.


Praseed kicked off the technical sessions with Mono. He gave an introduction about the MONO project and explained the platform independence for .NET applications. Raj Choudhary took session on Telerik Productivity tools. He demonstrated various rad tools such as Time Picker, Scheduler, and Editor etc. At the end, Raj offered 20% discount on Teleric suite to all CTD participants.


After the session by Raj, It was 15 minutes break for tea/coffee.
After the tea break, Vinod started the SQL tips & tricks and the session caused many attendees to take extra care while playing around with databases and while writing T-SQL scripts. Shalvin took the next slot for ADO.NET Entity Framework. He demonstrated the benefits of entity framework and the top down development approach.


Event took a 45 minutes break for delicious buffet lunch.
After the lunch, CTD covered four more technical tracks, Security by Manu, NoSQL by Shiju, Generics by Yanesh and XML Serialization by Praseed.
