Definition Of Innovation And Its Importance Business Essay.
Innovation is what gives an organization the competitive advantage the business will need to be successful in the market. Innovations are ideas that can impact the strategy, process, products and services that an organization has to offer to its customers. Three organizations that have an enormous impact on innovation are United Parcel Service (UPS), Hewlett-Packard and The Coca-Cola Company.
In this section, the main focus is on defining the process of innovation and how it benefits society itself. When you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly and get on with improving your other innovations. It is easy to get into a routine where we are consumed by the process of work and its preoccupations, that we overlook the huge potential for change. Innovation is a kind of instrument, a way to find a solution for different kinds of problems from simple level to complicated problems. Generally, innovation is a process to bring new ideas to life. This process leads to 'invention' or 'discovery'. In any kind of field, not only technology but also in other fields like social, economic, political, etc., this process helps to find a solution for different kinds of problems. In the organizational environment, people work with everyday routine. Here the goal is something completely different, that is to focus on a new and end in new value. Everyday routine job doesn't need innovation. But more rapid change, multifaceted problems, and opportunities that require to be pursued, need and that doesn't exist yet, innovation is not only an opportunity but a necessity. Every innovative solution, however new it might be, will come across some kind of mistake, obstacle, or barriers. Every successful innovation will improve something or the process itself. It should not regard failure as a weakness. Every step towards the innovation is a process of learning and finding new ways that don't work. Innovation is a systematically significant individual and organizational activity; a mechanism to bring different thoughts and creative ideas together and to accomplish growth and success. It is a process that may bring about diverse impacts, both in the short-run and in the long-run. On the other hand, it is not simple to accomplish innovation. As the definition said, innovation is not the result of chance; innovation is making change by implementing new ideas, new methods, and different ways for the old process. The change that is made for better is accepted by common interest and it's sustainable for the better result in the future. But first of all, the purpose of innovation is to create value and success for an individual, organization, or country with a clear vision for the future.
Innovation is an important concept to understand, especially in the context of technology. The French word "innovation" is derived from the Latin word "innovatio", which means "renewal" or "change". Innovation is a process of improving something, whether a product, a method, a system or a service, through the application of new ideas. In other words, it does not necessarily have to be an invention; the act of introducing something new or making changes to anything that already exists is also considered innovation. In general, an innovation is a result of a dedicated effort to bring about a change, compared to a novelty, which often signifies a mere change in appearance. There are different types of innovation and it's not just a product - it could be a process, a service, a business model or even just a capability or a function. For example, when Apple first introduced the iPhone in 2007, it was not only a product but also a ground-breaking new service innovation, in the form of App Store. This built on their existing capability in the mp3 player market and also created a new service platform to sustain that capability. Today, as a multinational brand, continual innovation is vital to sustain their position in the market. However, not all innovations have the same impact and I will discuss the different types of innovation in another post. Similarly, innovation is not limited to profit-making organisations. Any enterprise, whether well-established or a start-up, and from any sector - public or private, services or manufacturing; digital, technology or traditional, could be innovative. Universities, research bodies, not-for-profit or charity sectors and government departments can all be innovative as well, in ways that can help improve society. As I mentioned before, innovation could be at different levels, such as a product, a service, a business or a function. For a small business, innovation could be about making a product or service more efficient and of a higher quality, with reduced costs. For a multinational, it could be more about further embedding the business' current position or opening up a new business opportunity. As we live in a highly globalised world and rapid-paced society today, the continuous regional and worldwide technological advancements drive how businesses operate and compete. Such innovations fundamentally change how we live and interact with each other. Businesses that receive the prestigious Queen's Awards for Enterprise each year often demonstrate strong innovation and proven commercial success in areas such as international trade, sustainable development and also innovation. For example, the prior winners for "Innovation" consist of Swallowfield Plc, a next generation beauty business that has designed sustainable packaging and creative product solutions with patented technology, and Moffat and Williamson, a pioneering company in the field of aircraft protection. Imperial companies or the Royal Colleges could be eligible to apply for the Queen's Awards as well. While many people believe that "innovation" is only about a brand new invention, actually in the concepts of it, even a small change is still counted as innovation. For this case, organisations from healthcare, public sector and charity etc. who are continuously seeking to provide efficient and effective services, can also be innovative. Nonetheless, different sectors might have diverse perceptions or practices in innovation, due to their different stakeholder interests, governance structures, levels of competition or even statutory regulations imposed. But it is expected that the significance of innovation should not be underestimated and such a practice could lead to better results toward the purpose of that organisation and consequently the society.

Many times the need for these products is customer driven. A customer will approach Lockheed with an idea and will ask how it will become a reality and what that reality will cost.

The statement “I never did anything by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident, but by working hard” goes to show that innovations just don’t occur by accident. Most of us forget 95 to 99 percent of our dreams, and usually a person dreams at least four to six times per night. To change that you should keep a dream journal by your bed so you can write down everything that you can remember about your dreams the second you wake up, before any other thoughts clutter your mind.
