GRC is an international 501(c)(3) non-profit with branches at over 20 top universities around the globe, including Harvard, UPenn, and Columbia. Every year over 1,000 GRC members work with non-profits, NGOs, startups, governments, and corporations on solving their social impact challenges. The rising junior from Greensboro learned that he has been shortlisted as a finalist for the John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize in the category of History.

Only 16.9 percent of the 34,823 submissions for the contest were shortlisted. Category winners and the overall grand prize will be announced during a September awards ceremony and academic conference in London that Evan plans to attend.
